Myst and Death Gate Areas, Faster Spellups, New Wishes Lasher, September 19, 2010 Area Changes: The ‘Death Gate’ area has been removed and replaced with the ‘The Partroxis’ area. The ‘Myst’ area has been removed as it was copyright related. The area got so little use it wasn’t worth replacing – better to remove and work on newer replacements. Game Changes: ‘Owned 7’ will now show your owned equipment with object ids instead of serial numbers. (Vanion) If an item is inside a carried container, the id of the container will show rather than the name. Spelling up will now be a little faster. This is a modification to the base speed of spells and wishes are based on that, so spellups with the wishes should be a little faster too. There is now a ‘pockets3’ wish. It is very expensive. There is also a ‘pockets4′ wish which is twice as expensive as that. I stand by what I said on equipment loading/saving, but if someone is prepared to pay these amounts for it, let ’em. If you have pocket4 and want 5 at twice the cost of 4 let me know, but be warned I’ll charge you before coding it. When using ‘wish list’, pockets 2,3,4 won’t show as options until you are able to actually buy them. The frequency of room based campaigns and gquests has been reduced significantly. The largest gold bid increment on auction and market is now 50,000 gold rather than 10,000 gold. Having 10k increments on something being sold for 5M+ gold just drags things out. Items with the ‘bugged’ flag (because they are dupes) can no longer be auctioned. Invdata and Eqdata both now include Aardwolf color codes. If you’d prefer to see ANSI in them instead, use each command with the ‘ansi’ option. Note that ‘rawcolor’ still overrides the default too. Using ‘auction set’ and ‘auction sethigh’ with no arguments will now show the settings for both options. Using ‘pray for corpse’ in any room *other* than the temple will show how many you have left. Using ‘pray ‘ at the temple itself will show the same thing. Slightly confusing syntax, but that’s what we get for trying to use the same command as a global channel and a specific action in a specific room. GMCP Related Changes: Rather than using ‘comm.event’ for everything with a type, I have renamed some GMCP tags. Main reason for this is better compatibility with cmud, but it’s also cleaner this way. tick became simply: comm.tick {} quest is now : comm.quest - previous fields are the same except type=quest no longer necessary. repop is now : comm.repop GMCP Room info will now be sent in open clan halls and public parts of closed clans. Clanskills that change align were not updating the GMCP status correctly – this dated back to when ‘align’ was part of gmcp.vitals rather than status. GMCP hunger/thirst was not always updating correctly. Hopefully all fixed now. Fixed the $C variable coming through in GMCP mob says. It is now whatever your color for say is set to. MUD News
