New area/goal, Paladin spell upgrades, other changes. Lasher, July 12, 2014 Tribal Origins – New Level 165-190 Area and Goal: In an effort to learn more about the dreaded Tairayden tribe who first made an appearance in Tairayden Peninsula, a wise and adventure seeking warrior decided to seek additional knowledge. He had many questions after freeing the hostages the tribe had taken, and decided he is going to get the answers he needed. Where did the tribe come from? Why are they attacking vacation seekers at the peninsula? Where are they now? He may not have found all the answers to the questions he had, but what he found shocked him, and may shock you as well. Now, the only question he demands answered remains unknown at this point. Is the tribe planning an attack on Andolor, the likes of which no adventurer has ever seen? If you’re seeking the same wisdom, seek Bemethreln, who has built a small cabin not far from Tairayden Peninsula. Tell him you also wish to learn the truth about the tribe. Ranger was done a couple of months ago but Paladin was never finished until now. Important points below: Almost all of the Paladin spells got a boost to base damage and then a small tier multiplier. Depending on targets I noticed around 10-30% difference in Heavenly Balance / Apocalypse on my copy of the MUD. While higher level spells have higher multipliers, all spells will now continue to increase in power as you gain stats. At higher level where you need a specific damage type for a particular target, you might find that some of your lower level spells are viable again, particularly the level 100+ spells. The per-tier bonus does include ‘Blades of Light’ which works a little differently than other spells. Terminate and Charge have not changed. Remember that, level for level, paladin spells are stronger than their ranger equivalent but you need extreme align difference to get the full benefit. Game Enhancements / Bug Fixes: When a player gets items from a container, there is usually no echo to other players in the room as this gets really spammy with people organizing inventory etc. Have made a change so that if someone gets an item from a non-takeable container in the room it will now echo to other players. This will help a group to see who looted things like the inferno ore but still keep other spam limited. Have increased the number of double exp mobs you can get from daily blessings. Still quite random, but average range increased by about 15. Mobs that don’t leave a corpse are already flagged not to load poker cards, Aarchaeology items, etc. Have made daily blessing bonus gold also ignore these mobs so it won’t decrease your bonus counter. The ‘Ultrablast’ spell was incorrectly checking ‘magic’ damtype rather than mental to determine if a mob is immume or not. Now fixed. Using ‘spellup’ on a mob (pet) will use the correct shortname rather than its list of keywords. All heal spells will now give the message ‘You are already fully healed.’ rather than 0 or negative heal amounts. They do still take the mana, it is the spell itself giving the message so still costs the mana to cast it. The ‘noinfo’ toggle is now shown when you type ‘config’. The cleric spell ‘holy word’ was only intended to work on one target at a time, now fixed. Primary class Psi was not getting the damroll bonus from bless. Now fixed. When using ‘dice’ on various channels, the ‘(Dice)’ prefix should now appear correctly in history. If you can’t see an imm during a war, you should now still see the damage done by them in combat. The ‘above’ position used by the Aura of Trivia will now show when using the ‘wearable’ command. MUD News
