Hammerswing, new goals, metarank, faster spellups. Lasher, September 17, 2014 Blacksmith Skill – Hammerswing: There is a new Blacksmith ability called Hammerswing that will attack like an area attack then automatically hit each target the Blacksmith is fighting each round of combat. The hits are considered a skill rather than melee hits so most dodges do not apply. Damage on Hammerswing depends on 4 things: A combination of your Str, Dex and Luck. Luck has less impact. Each round of combat with Hammerswing will cost 1% of your moves up to a maximum of 100 and with a minimum of 10. The more moves are used by the skill, the more damage it will do. The longer you are in uninterrupted combat, the faster your hammer will swing and do more damage. It doesn’t have to be the same same target, so you should see the damage slowly increase while fighting multiple targets assuming you remain in combat the entire time. Maximum bonus from this is reached at 75 rounds. Your percent practiced in the skill. If is ‘nofail’ but will adjust damage based on practiced percent. Remember to practice it! There are several ways you can use the hammerswing skill depending on your playing style: Just type ‘hammerswing’ to initiate combat like an area attack. This will begin combat with every attackable character in the room. Type ‘hammerswing’ while in combat to start swinging only against characters attacking you – does not initiate combat with other characters in the room. If you want to attack another character in the room *after* starting to hammerswing, use a skill on it, or if you are a remort use a different area attack. Use the ‘autoswing’ command to automatically start swinging when you start to fight. This autoswing version will only hit characters already attacking you. Note this is only checked when a fight starts, turning it on in the middle of a fight will not activate it. If you find yourself in an extended battle running out of moves you can ‘hammerswing stop’, but note that if you have autoswing on it will be used again the next time you enter combat. Hammerswing will stop automatically if you run out of moves and autoswing will not kick in if if you have less than 100 moves remaining. New Goal – Jenny’s Tavern: Ah, Jenny’s Tavern. A wonderful place to go, hang out, have a few too many tales, and chat with your fellow adventurers. For years, the owner of the bar has been in hiding; collecting the money the tavern has generated and hiding out on an unknown island, living the life of luxury. That is, until now. Something has gone horribly wrong in the kitchen of the tavern, and now everybody has become violently ill. The patrons scramble to find a bathroom in the tavern, but one does not exist. They are in dire need of some help; not only to find out what caused this, but to help find find a cure. Seek Jenny at the entrance of the tavern, if you dare attempt to help the patrons, possibly putting your own health on the line. But, this task may not be as easy as one might think. A few days ago, the ground rumbled at Yurgach Domain, and things were different. Sylciri is not sure what happened or what changed, but we can only assume it was not good. At the end of your journey, you will know exactly what changed. That is, if you make it out alive. Level Range : 50 to 100 Goal Difficulty : Medium Goal Recommended at : Level 100 Goal Converter : Rhuli Area Author : Rhuli & Kali Other changes in this update: The ‘Berserk’ skill has been buffed for primary class warriors only. For warriors, the modifiers will generally be higher. The amount of Damroll you get is based on strength and the amount of Hitroll you get is based on Dexterity. Spellups used out of combat will now be faster both without and with the spellup wish. This reduced my full spellup on a high level char without the wish from 1:20 to just under a minute and the time with spellup from 22 seconds to 16 (less room to move here). As you can see, still very much worthwhile to have the wish. Reduced the lag on Chameleon Power, Heighten Sense and Shadow Form. If you train a stat that costs more than 1 training session and have unused tierstats or wishstats you will receive a warning. Fixed a minor bug with not being able to use ‘pretitle remove’. When doing ‘sell all’ shopkeepers will report items they cannot see even if those items are kept. ‘Sell all’ isn’t supposed to spam reasons for individual items not selling anyway other than when they are out of gold so fixed this. Failed amnesia was adding the recovery twice so you’d get two messages when it wore off a few seconds later. Amnesia was also acting like ‘aim’, this is now fixed too. Mobs flagged as warrior but with no subclass assigned were still able to randomly repop as Berserker. Now fixed. Metarank Fix / Rebuild to include more data: It was pointed out to us that some high daily powerup numbers were not added to ‘metarank 16 daily’. After researching I realized that we had a bug in the nightly update causing probably about 50% of metaranks after number 11 (combat maze kills) not to have counted. We wrote a program to go back through the nightly ranking note archive and pull out all the values and recalculate them. You will notice the following changes: Total level is no longer shown. This information isn’t available in the note data and is not really essential to the rankings anyway. As I had to write this program anyway and the rank notes list the top 10 in each category, the old information is more accurate because it’s based on the top 10 each day rather than the top 3. There is now a counter on the output. There was an old bug where daily metaranks prior to Feb 2014 were off by a day. Biggest place you would have noticed this would be Dec 7th (Aard birthday) levels showing as the 8th. Hopefully this fixes them up and they will be accurate moving forward. Only daily has been changed, the rest should be fine. Note this only applies to rank 1,2,3,4,5,6,9,10,15,16,17,18 and 19 – the others were not touched. MUD News
