Revelling in her state of power, Wispen toyed with her poison tipped dagger as she calmly surveyed the chaos erupting around her. Using her powers of distraction, she blended easily into the crowds as she smirked at the dismay that spread over the crowd as they slowly realised their loss. After years of training, she had finally achieved the mastery of her chosen profession, and had become a hero in the eyes of lesser brigands.

Stepping away from the ensuing panic, she idly wandered down a narrow alley way. A feeble cry caught her attention and she lightly sprinted to the scene. A cry caught in her throat as she spied two minor thieves beating up an elderly woman for gold. A single tear rolled down her cheeks as remorse swept over her. Was this what she had been doing all her life? Harming the innocent through sheer brute force and cunning, having no care for those who could not even protect themselves?

As tears threatened to spill, she blindly ran down an alley way and slumped against the grime covered wall. It was only in her isolation that tears began to flow freely, yet it could never wipe away the stains of her life. Remorse and guilt swamped her soul as what she used to view as mere mischief became a vicious act. Fearing for her tide of depression sweep over her.

Soul and crying for the person whom she had become, Wispen felt tide after tide of depression sweep over her.

Spinning her dagger around, she felt desolation as everything she believed in slipped away from her and her world crumbled. There was a silence as she stopped spinning her dagger with a sudden click. A wry smile crept over her tear streaked face as she made her choice. Pointing her dagger at her heart, she whispered a final farewell.

Fear struck deep into her heart as she succumbed to the sheer presence of this being. "Life was not given to be taken" boomed in her mind as the being picked up the poison covered dagger. A jumble of emotions ran through her mind and her heart cried out in response, "But I have done great wrong, what more is therebut to end this evil" of emotions ran through her mind and her heart cried out in response, " But I have done great wrong, what more is therebut to end this evil" A searing light swept through her body as the pain of her soul was replaced with a calming peace. A single word floated into her memory as she lost consciousness "Repent".

Shifting in her restful slumber, she was awoken by the loud clatter of falling metal. Instinctively, she vaulted out of bed and crouched on the ground, grasping the dagger. There was something different about her dagger, it still bore the family insignia, yet the poison compartments had disappeared and had been replaced by a single blood gem. Joy infused into her heart as she realised she had been given a second chance at life. As a mage.
