Story
Bedtime tales and old stories of ages long past tell of a desert with sands one would imagine are grains of gold itself. It is said that those who found themselves truly lost and in desperate need eventually stumbled upon a beacon within the desolation: a mythical city with stark white walls, like a shining salvation in endless darkness. Long have scholars and explorers searched for this city, until eons passed and it was eventually passed off as an old tale with muddled details upon the lips of the common folk.
For millennia its existence was shrugged off as a badly written tale of hope in dire times, until a merchant wagon happened upon a radiant mirage during its toils through the eastern wastes of Alagh and disappeared past the gleaming gates of the Shining City of Calazar.

Note: Though this area contains creatures which may help the heroes-to-be in their pursuit of glory, one must do so with a keen eye, for the desert sands are known to harbor terrible creatures that will hunt the unsuspecting to death.
