Crimson

THE CRIMSON HORDE

Crimson Horde is one of Aardwolf’s long-standing clans, with roots in Viking lore and a long association with PK, warfare and raiding.

PK remains part of the Horde’s identity, but it is not required for membership. Today the clan includes players with a wide range of interests — PK, questing, campaigns, goals, exploration, equipment, character development and the many other ways of getting thoroughly lost in Andolor.

The Horde values capable play, shared knowledge, improvement and members who contribute to the clan as well as developing their own characters.

Its traditions draw on Norse ideas of fellowship, conduct and reputation, reflected in the runes and terms used throughout the clan.

Thor also appears rather frequently.

This is partly historical, partly cultural, and partly because a god whose preferred problem-solving tool is a hammer has always seemed unusually well suited to the Horde.

The clan’s own account of arriving in Andolor involves a ship, a violent storm, a lightning strike and a total loss of navigational control.

It was, they decided, a very Thor way to solve the problem.

That combination of mythology and mild irreverence has remained part of Crimson Horde ever since. Thor may be taken seriously. He should not necessarily be expected to behave sensibly.

The story of how the Horde came to Andolor, the meanings of its runes, and the current in-game helpfile can be found on the related pages below.
