Aardwolf does not, as a general rule, support one player having multiple
characters. While it is not illegal, it is important to remember that
Aardwolf is a community and each player should consider themselves a unique
contributor to this community.
While the game doesn't make creating a second character illegal, many
portions of the environment are designed in a way that make playing an alt
isolating and uncomfortable.
Clans:
Clans will sometimes recruit alt characters if their primary character
is in the same clan. However, no clans on Aardwolf desire/support having
one person with multiple characters in different clans.
There are several reasons for this
*Clans are very theme based and desire loyalty.
*Some Clans engage in PK and don't want interclan conflict of players
alts that can kill their characters.
*Raiding may impart knowledge that wasn't obtained through trustworthy
means by use of alts.
Boundaries:
Multi-playing (having two characters play at the same time) is illegal.
Having two characters is a threat and a temptation to multi-play.
See Help Policies2 for more details.
*Do not have multiple characters online at the same time
*Your character must not benefit from the other in anyway.
*Do not pass gold, items, tokens or qp/trivia to an alt.
*Do not used a 3rd party to transfer any of the above.
*Do not leave gold/items/tokens on the ground for your alt.
*Do not use one character to spell up another character.
*Do not spell-up your link-dead alt.
*Recreation is equivalent to starting a new character.
Any of the above actions to give your recreation a head start is
Multi-playing.
*Having someone else log in to your character from your IP or a
different IP is illegal as characters cannot be shared.
Culture:
Aardwolf has a few informal rules made by the adventurers that engage
in the community. These are expectations that people try to respect without
being asked. One of these expectations is that each person here is
an unique individual. While some players have alts, one person
identifying as multiple people/personas in secret, tends to be frowned upon
by the community at large.
