What is the Bugtracker?:
Bugtracker is web based software for tracking bugs and issues. It is
based on the Mantis bug tracking package. You can find the software at:
http://aardwolf.com/bugz
What is it for?:
Whenever a new bug is posted it will be reviewed by an immortal and if
confirmed as a bug, it will be posted to the bug tracking software. The
bug note itself will be updated with a link to the entry in Bugtracker
so anyone who is interested can add their own notes or monitor activity
on the bug. This will make it easier for you to get updates on a bug
without having to constantly check back on the Bugs board.
How can I use it?:
You can use the bugtracker in one of two ways:
1. Just use the link in the bug note to login anonymous and read any
updated. You can also browse other bugs, but cannot make any updates.
If you get 'access denied' on anonymous login, just click 'proceed'.
2. Login to the bugtracking software using your Aardwolf login name and
password. You must have a valid email address on your player file for
this to work. See 'help email' for how you can set an email address
and make it private so that only imms can see it.
After logging in, you can 'monitor' bug notes which means you will
receive an email whenever anything changes. You can also add your own
notes to bugs. You cannot create new issues in Bugtracker - new bugs
still need to be posted to the bugs board within Aardwolf.
You can also search the bugs before entering a new one to see if it is
an existing issue.
How will it be used in future?:
We have the option to make new bug posts automatically update the
Bugtracker database. This may be used in future.
We will also use the tracker to log ideas and update any progress
made on them.
Using the bugtracker to create a project for each goal conversion
or other test port projects is also an option.
