1. Find an amulet of the planes:
a) If you have the hunt skill you can hunt for the Deep Dragon in
an area called The Gauntlet. You can also explore the maze part of the
area to find the Deep Dragon if you don't have the hunt skill--it's
just a matter of finding the exit that leads up in the maze since the
Deep Dragon doesn't move out of that section.
b) Use the barter channel to ask for someone to auction an amulet.
Once it's up for auction you can type 'bid <number> <amount>'. You'll
need to bid at least 105 gold.
2. Adopt a pet. In The Grand City of Aylor, type 'runto pets'. You can
then 'adopt <pet> <name>' to buy yourself a pet and name it. It might also
be a good idea to 'runto potions' and buy some heal potions, since
unprepared newbies often die in the planes.
3. To use your amulet of the planes, hold it and simply type 'enter'. This
will lead you to the first room called The Lower Astral Plane. If you type
'where' you'll find you're in the Amusement Park area.
4. Type 'read graffiti'. The graffiti shows the number of steps to the
east you must take to reach the correct pool. If you take one step, you'll
get to Gladsheim.
5. Type 'enter pool' then DON'T MOVE! Type 'heel' to get your pet to
arrive, then type a command like 'order <petname> sleep'. The pet will
fall asleep in that room, flagging the room so that it is easy to find
your way back. Note that this is the only room that you will be able to
'recall' from in this section.
6. Now you can freely search for your target. Once it is killed there are
a number of ways to find your way back to the first room that you entered:
a) If you have hunt you can 'hunt <petname>'.
b) You can use 'scan <petname>' if you do not have hunt and are close to
your pet's location.
c) If you don't have hunt and are far from your pet, just type 'down'
until you can't go down any further. Use 'look' to see the name of the
room that you are in, then type 'exits'. Keep moving to other rooms
with the same name as the one you've moved down into. Once you reach a
room with graffiti (G) by the room name or a pet waiting in it, you
know you have reached the room you can 'recall' from. This tactic
even works if you've forgotten to bring a pet along.
Exceptions: There are 3 pools for which this tactic doesn't work:
Pandemonium, Twin Paradises and Beastlands.
d) Pets will show up as a bright cyan ! on the ASCII map, so they
also work as a visual indicator if they are nearby.
